If you love lasagna, but hate how long it takes...give this recipe a whirl. It is super fast, especially if you already have browned ground beef on hand. You don't have to boil the noodles for this recipe and that alone speeds up the process. I grew up on this recipe and never realized that people boiled their noodles for lasagna, until I was older. Give this recipe a try, I think you'll like it.
Lasagna
In a bowl combine these ingredients:
1 Bottle of Prego Meat Sauce
½-1 lbs of ground beef (first brown your ground beef)
¾ cup of water
1 tsp salt
In a Pyrex dish Layer these ingredients:
Layer:
Sauce (the mixture in your bowl)…just barely cover the bottom of the dish
Noodles (uncooked)
Ricotta Cheese (I am not sure of the size, but I think it is the 1 lb or largest size you can get at the grocery store)
Mozzarella cheese
Sauce…half of the sauce you have
Noodles (uncooked)
Ricotta Cheese…use the last half of the container
Mozzarella Cheese
Sauce…last half of the sauce
Sprinkle mozzarella on top
Bake @ 375 covered for one hour. Pull out of oven and lift the corner of the foil and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
***Ricotta cheese tastes better, but is a little more expensive, you can use cottage cheese to cut the cost.
Yum i'm going to try this tonight!
