What a cute way to send a kiss to someone... via a flip book! Color Me Katie blog shows you how and it's much easier than you'd think (or at least than I thought).
Who's to say I don't deserve one of these beautiful gardens after a LooooNG week?! I don't know one thing about a Zen Garden or Zen Gardening, but something about the word 'Zen' and seeing the sand racked out so beautifully, makes me think I could really enjoy it...for about two seconds.
......then I would have to rescue it from being run through by Jackson and eaten by Bennett. ha.
Okay, so maybe a Zen Garden isn't my best plan so far.
I'll have to find Zen some other way.
Just when the weather started to get nice, it's supposed to be cold and rainy this weekend (at least in Utah). You know what this means? Probably either the movies or redbox. BUT, I don't have to spend a fortune because I remembered that most grocery stores sell discount movie coupons! A few weeks ago when I saw How to Train Your Dragon I only had to pay $6 instead of $10!!
I also just found a bunch of websites where you can find codes to get free redbox movies (not that $1 is going to really break the bank, but who can beat FREE?!). One that seemed to be pretty popular was Inside Redbox.
What fun things are you guys up to this weekend? I need ideas.... sometimes it's nice to get ideas from what other people are doing because it might just be something refreshing and new, or even something you have done but didn't think of at the time!
Whatever you do, happy weekend starting in t-minus 1 day!!

Here's a little sidewalk chalk tip for you: soak your chalk in a bucket of water overnight or as long as you can before using it. The wet chalk will give you more vibrant colors and a velvety look than dry chalk. It's even been said that adding a cup of sugar to the water will make the colors pop even more.

Try figuring out your BMI (plus some) using WebMD's Calculator. The Calculator takes into account a lot of different factors. It will give you helpful hints, ideas of where you are starting and tells you your target heart rate, to get the best results from exercising. It will also give you a summary and a place to create a plan for your exercising. It gave me great feedback and got me excited to workout. Check it out.
Happy Friday everyone! The hubster and I were thinking about going to a movie this weekend and I'm not going to lie, the popcorn is soooo very tempting there. However, a friend of mine just taught me how she makes healthy (and still yummy) homemade popcorn and you don't even need a popcorn popper. Here's how you make it:
1. Drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil over 2 tablespoons of popcorn kernels (that you would normal use for a popcorn machine).
2. Put in brown paper lunch bag.
3. Microwave as normal.
(She also like to throw in some swedish fish to the bag right after it's done popping because it makes them soft and warm. Kinda takes away the healthiness of it, but oh well!)
I have been thinking about Memorial day the last few days. I really want to do something out of the normal. I think many memorial days come and go without my acknowledgment, but with kids I have found a new purpose in celebrating even the smaller holidays.
1. because anything out of the normal everyday routine is REALLY nice and 2. because some of these holidays are important to teach our kids about or to just be reminded ourselves of their importance.
I came across some great looking recipes and wanted to share them with you. In hopes that they might spark your creativity and excitement too.
2. Taco Salad
3. Jello Salad
6. Berry Pie
